Free Science Society is a community of like-minded people – for those who create knowledge, not merely consume it.

We are a non-governmental organisation that brings together researchers, scholars, postgraduate students, and undergraduates. We are united by a shared conviction: science grows stronger when knowledge circulates freely among people, rather than being locked away in separate offices or behind other barriers.

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to support the development of science and scientific collaboration in Ukraine by creating an open community for researchers, early-career scientists, postgraduate students, and university students. We provide opportunities for academic exchange, research support, education, and collaboration through research groups, seminars, workshops, lectures, and other nonprofit activities.

Free Science Society (FSS) is a Ukrainian nonprofit organization officially registered as ГО «ТОВАРИСТВО ВІЛЬНОЇ НАУКИ» / FREE SCIENCE SOCIETY, registration number 46177914.

WHAT UNITES US?

Our community rests on a simple principle: you get out of it as much as you put in.

The Society grows thanks to those who are ready not only to use its resources, but also to build a shared space — to propose ideas, share knowledge, and support others. There are no passive participants here: every contribution — an article, a piece of advice, a colleague's draft you've read, an answer to someone's question — comes back to you many times over.

The more you put in, the deeper your engagement becomes, and the more valuable what the community can give you in return.

WHY IT WORKS?

Reciprocity. Knowledge shared freely multiplies. What you give to another doesn't disappear – it stays both with you and with them.
Equal access. We remove the barriers between those seeking knowledge and those who hold it. Here, a student and a professor are equals in conversation.
A shared space. We build an environment where ideas meet, are tested in discussion, and grow into something greater than anyone could create alone.
